Transit Market Manager

The Transit Market Manager shall have responsibility for providing strategic leadership to the company in order to drive an increase of the company’s market share in transit wash equipment. The position will act as the point of contact for specific large strategic transit agencies where greater depth and breadth is sought in terms of alignment and relationships. ‘Major’ transits may be further refined, but at minimum will include the top 10 transit agencies in the United States (NY City, WMATA, NJ Transit, Chicago, Boston, BART, SEPTA, MARTA, METRO (LA), Miami-Dade) as well as all transit agencies in the Western United States. The position will serve as the primary point of contact for APTA. The position will provide leadership oversight on all transit RAIL infrastructure projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain broader and deeper customer relationships with the major transits.
- Proactively engage with strategic transit agencies to understand the future goals and unmet needs of tomorrow’s transit operations.
- Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with critical Architectural and Engineering firms that specialize in transit infrastructure projects.
- Represent the company at APTA as the key person at InterClean responsible for driving the company to better align to meet the needs of Transit
- Provide leadership and insights to the broader InterClean team (direct sales and distributors) regarding insights into the transit market
- Lead the creation and maintenance of a long-range Transit pipeline of opportunities based on sales activities, proposed projects, funding requests and funding allocations of transits in the United States
- Provide feedback to the company regarding the critical areas of innovation on which the company needs to focus on for future success in Transit
- Perform the Area Management professional sales functions for projects at major transits
- Building professional proposals
- Creating, compiling, and submitting effective and qualifying bids
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Two or more Capital Equipment sales experience required
- Technical and mechanical aptitude
- Strong work ethic
- General knowledge: sufficient knowledge of a field to perform most work in normal situations
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Environment, mostly office
- Exposures may be encountered while visiting a customer’s site, such as loud noise, or extreme heat/cold
- Essential physical requirements, including sitting and typing
- Ability to travel which may possibly require occasional work on nights or weekends
