Saw Operator

InterClean Equipment is searching for a dependable Saw Operator team member based out of Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Saw Operator at InterClean Equipment has the primary focus of cutting materials to specification. Additionally, the Saw Operator is responsible for sanding, prepping, and moving the material prior to the welding process.

Job Type: Hourly, Non Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uses the saw to cut raw materials to specifications on prints.
- Sands and prepares cut material prior to the welding process.
- Attaches chains and straps to work in progress in preparations for moving with the crane or lift truck.
- Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
- Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand crane or lift truck.
- Maintain customer job folders for work in progress.
- Cleans and scrapes metal for fabricating, welding, and painting for shipping.
- Picks up and trucks scraps from work areas.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Performs other routine duties as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One or more years of on-the-job saw operating experience preferred.
- General knowledge of hand tools, machining equipment, and blueprint reading required.
- Ability to properly read and use a tape measure required.
- General math skills required.
- Hi-Lo experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work on the production floor
- Exposure includes hazardous materials and loud noise
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must have manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination
- Occasional weekend shifts required as needed
