Field Service Technician
InterClean Equipment is searching for a dependable Field Service Technician team member. This position based out of Ypsilanti, Michigan will cover a wide region of the U.S. Field Service Technicians are responsible for the successful start-up and service of InterClean Equipment vehicle wash systems. While not at customer sites, Field Service Technicians assist customers with the usage and maintenance of their current systems as needed. Expected Travel: 70% – 90%
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Travel to customer site for initial start-up of vehicle wash system ensuring that InterClean Equipment workmanship and supplied equipment meets the specifications and quality.
- Provide customer with training on how to use the wash system.
- Perform testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
- Troubleshoot on-site for problems and provides suggestions for system improvements.
- Connect electrical wiring, cables, and piping systems as specified.
- Drill and tap holes in specified locations.
- Properly install/replace piping, valves, flanges, unions, and bracings.
- Test/replace electrical components, high/low voltage. Use multimeter for diagnostics.
- Cut, strip, bend, and form wire cables, conduits, pipes, and tubing used to connect circuits and subassemblies.
- Glue PVC piping.
- Document hours, site conditions, and work performed to Service Manager in accordance with InterClean Equipment SOP’s.
- Document customer communication within SOP documents.
- Provide profession customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Effectively communicates with on-site staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school education preferred.
- Plumbing, Electrical, and Controls experience preferred.
- Industrial Maintenance experience preferred.
- Construction building experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints/schematics required.
- General knowledge: sufficient knowledge of a field to perform most work in normal situations. The work calls for comprehension of standard situations and includes knowledge of most of the significant aspects of the subject.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work in a wide variety of environments.
- Required overnight travel up to 90%.
- Ability to kneel, squat, climb ladders, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Weekend shifts as needed.
